No. A silencer with a 108 mm extension can perform just as well as one at 150 mm. Internal volume, design and how well the silencer matches your caliber decide the result — which is why we publish our noise measurements instead of comparing lengths.

The rules differ between countries and change over time. Your dealer knows what applies where you hunt and will tell you what is needed before you buy.
