What drives us is more than engineering. It is a genuine passion for the outdoors, for craftsmanship, and for making equipment hunters can rely on.
Every silencer we make carries the knowledge of decades in the field, designed not only to perform but to preserve traditions and inspire the hunters who come after us.
At Stalon we are not just engineers and manufacturers. We are hunters. We are shooters. We are outdoorsmen and women who know what equipment really means when you are standing in the forest at dawn, long before the first shot is ever taken.
Our products are developed in Sweden, shaped by Scandinavian hunting traditions and real-world experience. Every silencer we design is built on firsthand knowledge. We do not design for laboratory numbers alone. We design for reality.
Hunting is not a market to us; it is part of who we are. We test our products in the environments where they are meant to perform: dense forest, open country, driven hunts and high seats in winter conditions. That perspective shapes everything we do.
We aim for the best possible sound reduction without compromising handling, and we build silencers that take a significant part of the recoil out of the shot while keeping the rifle in balance. Performance is not only about decibels. It is about control, confidence and consistency.
From early development to modern precision manufacturing, our ambition has been the same: to refine what a silencer can be. Expectations have moved over the years, and so have we. Today we aim for advanced sound reduction combined with a light, practical design – pushing performance forward without giving up usability.

Stalon has grown steadily over the years, and so has the factory. What began as one focused production floor has been expanded several times to meet demand from hunters around the world. Every expansion has been a step forward in technology, efficiency and capacity.
Scaling up has not changed the mindset. We still combine advanced manufacturing with hands-on experience, so that every silencer leaving the building meets the standard we set for ourselves.
Eighteen years in a converted barn in the woods, making precision parts for other people’s products – and quietly building the knowledge everything since has rested on.
Our story begins in 1989 in an old barn far north in the Swedish highlands. In the middle of the woods, in a small village called Stalon, Daniel’s father was running a company. Rather than build a new workshop, he furnished the old barn – for practical reasons. The first customers were industries in northern Sweden, but the base grew, and larger clients such as IKEA began ordering work. At that time we manufactured precision parts for companies like Volvo and Koenigsegg.
Daniel’s father ran the company alone for about a decade, until Daniel decided to move home. He joined the business with the aim of one day running it himself. There were no employees yet, and a full salary was hard to come by. Daniel was a welder, and could widen the customer base with contract welding. During these years the barn was rebuilt and got a staff room; the renovation was finished in 2002. By then the company had invested in a CNC machine worth more than one and a half times its annual revenue.
In 2003 Maria joined the company. Until then, production and manufacturing had been the priorities. With Maria, more attention went to service in its different forms, to marketing, and to the administrative work a growing company needs. Her background in accounting became her main task, alongside production.
Between 2004 and 2005 the power station in Stalon was rebuilt, and Stalon AB supplied labour throughout the construction. It was enough to take on the first part-time employee.
First there was a question, and then there was an idea. The knowledge was there. The workshop was there. The machines were there.
At the turn of the year, Daniel and Maria put the focus on silencers of their own. Contract manufacturing carried on alongside it – as it still does, on a smaller scale – but from here on it was no longer what the company was about. The assembly line was a desk.
By the turn of the year 2008/2009, Daniel and Maria had decided: all focus would go to manufacturing silencers for hunting and shooting. They had spent years looking for a product of their own, so the decision was an easy one. Stalon Compact became the first silencer of our own design, and Stalon and Stalon Light were remade into Whisper. Both basic models still exist, in different shapes. At this point the assembly was a single desk with every supply within reach – and the desk doubled as the stock room. And yes, we were still in the barn.
Gert was hired in 2010 at 75 % – and always worked more hours. He is still with us. Daniel and Maria did not know how much they could promise, and wanted to be certain there was enough work before hiring. Times were uncertain, and they did not know how much they would be producing for the larger clients. They were still not drawing a full salary. That same year the first substantial rebuild began; it was finished in 2012. Daniel and Maria did much of the work themselves, with two small boys at home. It was a period of constant renovation – and the renovating has never really stopped.
Since 2011 new colleagues have been recruited every year. Ulla, who started that year, is still with us, part-time retired. Most of those who joined after her are still here too. Hiring was a relief, but Daniel and Maria remain grateful for the years of quite literally living at the company. They count experience as knowledge.
Whisper became W and got the golden ring that is our signature today. And one cold Saturday in February, the King came to the workshop.
Remember Whisper, the first silencer of our own design? In 2015 an updated version was launched as W. It was the first to carry the golden ring, which is Stalon’s signature today. Between 2015 and 2016 the factory was rebuilt again, and a new staff room was built.
In 2018 we had the honour of welcoming Sweden’s monarch, Carl XVI Gustaf, to our factory in Stalon. It was a Saturday in a cold February, and we are still proud of that visit.

The latest rebuild started in 2021 and was finished in the autumn of 2022. There are six CNC machines in the building today, and a single one of them is worth more than Daniel’s first investment. Stalon silencers are shipped to customers in Sweden, Scandinavia, Europe and further afield – all of it from Stalon, a village of thirty inhabitants without mobile coverage, at the end of a gravel road in the middle of the woods. All of it because two people refused to give up their dream.
What was once a barn is today an industry that manufactures silencers for hunting and shooting with one purpose: to give hunters an indescribable hunting experience. Here, a passion for hunting, wilderness, animals and nature runs in step with modern technology, deep knowledge and a northern mentality. The barn is still there, in the heart of the factory – rebuilt, but still the core of Stalon AB. It stands for willpower, patience and belief in the future, and it takes us back to basics, where an eye for detail, honesty and quality are the main partners.
In 2026 a majority of Stalon AB was acquired by Lagercrantz Group. Maria and Daniel continue to lead the company, and the work in Stalon goes on as before – the same people, the same machines, the same barn at the heart of the factory. The decision was taken with the long view in mind. We see a period of development ahead of us, and in time a change of generations. This is our way of making sure that Stalon remains Stalon: that the company is still here in many years’ time, and that silencers are still made in the factory in the village that gave us our name.
