TROUBLESHOOTING

STEP 1

1. ARE THERE STAINS IN THE FRONT?

Do you have a mark on the muzzle? This may be because the silencer has come loose at some point during shooting. This is common at shooting ranges. Always check that the silencer is correctly mounted and securely fastened before starting shooting.

It sometimes happens during shooting at a shooting range that after a while, precision deteriorates. This is often due to the silencer coming loose as it heats up. If it is loose, you will get poor precision, and the bullet can leave a mark on the muzzle.

There is a function inside the silencer that should tighten it with each shot. Therefore, if it has come loose slightly, it can tighten again with the next shot.

STEP 2

2. THREADS

It's rare for a silencer that has performed well to suddenly shoot poorly.

Check if there is dirt in the threads. Also, consider if you may have accidentally bumped into the silencer and/or the firearm at some point, which could have caused the suppressor to be misaligned.

STEP 3

3. POSITIONING BARREL SUPPORT

The barrel support is located at the rear edge of the suppressor and acts as an extra support for the suppressor. It should be 0.5-0.7 millimeters larger than the diameter of the barrel.

You should be able to easily move it with your fingers. If it is too tight, it will rest against the barrel and change the point of impact. It's important that the barrel support is used and that it is in the correct dimension.

If you were to get a blow to the silencer at the back or front end, the barrel support helps support the silencer against the barrel, so it doesn't risk becoming misaligned.

MAINTENANCE & CARE - EXTENDED

Dry out silencer
step 1

DRY OUT

Always remove the silencer from the firearm when it is not in use. Allow the inside to dry if wet or damp. Use a heat gun, compressed air, hairdryer, fan, or similar until it is completely dry.

Clean the bore
step 2

CLEAN THE BORE

Start by cleaning the bore from any gunpowder residue. This is best done with a gun cleaning brass brush or boresnake.

Lubricate threads
step 3

LUBRICATE THREADS

Wipe the threads of the silencer with a piece of paper to remove any dirt. If dirt gets into the split section, it will cause problems when disassembling the silencer later. Lubricate the split section between the front and back parts (if the silencer is divisible).

Use Stalon silencer grease >

Barrel's thread
step 4

BARRELS'S THREAD

Also lubricate the barrel threads with the same grease. Ensure that these are also cleaned from any debris.

Oil inside silencer
step 5

OIL

Finish by spraying a light gun oil for about 1-2 seconds (i.e., 1-2 short bursts) inside the silencer.

Store silencer
step 6

STORE

Store the silencer upright with the muzzle facing downward in a gun safe (or in another recommended way).

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to solve them — straight answers, no guessing.

Stains in the front

If you notice marks on the front-end, your silencer has most likely become loose during shooting.

This often happens at the range when heat builds up. A loose silencer reduces precision and may cause the bullet to touch the front-end. Thanks to the internal self-tightening design, the silencer often reattaches automatically with the next shot.

Barrel support position

The barrel support sits at the rear and acts as backup stability.

It should be 0.5–0.7 mm wider than the barrel. In case of impact to the front or rear, it helps keep the silencer aligned and secure.

Dirt coming out

Moisture combined with residue forms a corrosive compound inside the silencer.

Once dry, apply a light oil every few weeks during intense use. This protects internal surfaces and can even improve sound reduction slightly.

White crystals

Those chalk-like flakes are dried moisture minerals.

Clean using a brass brush or bore snake. The bore should always remain perfectly cylindrical for consistent accuracy.

Uneven lamellas

Unsymmetrical baffles with a centered bore?

That’s intentional. Stalon silencers are designed this way for optimal airflow and performance.
