Silencers were licensed-free in July 2022 in Sweden. Since then, the market is even more available because of the opportunity to not only own several silencers and try different models but also made it less complicated to buy one. It is allowed to own as many silencers as you want, provided that you have a license for the weapon that the silencer will be used with. Remember: this includes Sweden - there may be some differences in your country.
But as the market gets more available, the numberof options also increases. Today, you don’t need to apply for a license - and you're no longer limited to one specific model. Earlier, we bought license-free fronts, and today we can buy a completely new silencer, thanks to the substantial simplification of owning one.
This also means that if you, as a hunter, enjoy several hunting types, you no longer need to find one silencer that will fit every unique occasion. The doors are open to an expanded warehouse of equipment that gives you more options and probably even better hunting experiences. We thought it was about time to ask our customers which silencer they would select, and what features that’s most important for them.
The majority agreed that they search for a silencer that reduces many decibels relative to its size. The silencer mentioned most during our survey is Stalon XE108, where the main argument is that the noise reduction is high despite the model's short extension and low weight. Other features mentioned are the stylish appearance, the great adaption, and the heavy-duty material. Our customers consider it a good option for moving hunt where flexibility is an important attribute.
- XE108 is a Stalon silencer that’s extremely efficient without unnecessarily extending the weapon. It also works well with all calibers, in particular with rougher variants and fiery magnum calibers, Daniel Axelsson (CEO) explains. We recommend XE108 for driven- and moving hunt where you want a silencer that’s flexible and easy to carry.
If you’re looking for a silencer with similar features as XE108, but for a more standard caliber such as .308win, you need to look into X108. The difference is that the X108 builds less backward over barrel and weighs slightly less. Our survey shows that X108 is considered a great first model for most hunters, and at the same time, a perfect silencer for allround hunting;
- X108 is a good option if you want a small silencer, well-reducing, and fits several hunting forms, says Daniel.
Stalon VICTOR is another popular silencer that we recommend for moving hunt. It builds less backward over barrel, and has a considerably smaller diameter - and makes it our smoothest silencer. VICTOR and VICTOR L are considered the less clumsy silencer.
On the other hand, if you love spot and stalk and want the best possible noise- and recoil reduction, you might want to have a look at the bigger models X149 and XE149. Our customers that have bought any of these wanted the maximal noise reduction.
- XE149 is our equivalent for ”getting more when buying a bigger silencer”, Daniel declares. It’s our largest model but reduces noise to over 34 dBc according to our MIL-standard measurements. It’s an incredible difference for experienced noise level.

Innan du köper en ljuddämpare finns det några saker som du bör tänka på. Först och främst ställa dig själv frågan vilket syfte dämparen har för dig och din jakt. Vill du ha bara ljuddämpning, eller vill du även minska pipuppslag och rekyl? Du bör även fundera över vilken storlek och vikt som känns bäst för dig. En ljuddämpare kan kan påverka hela utrustningen beroende på vem som tillverkat den. Om du är hundförare och går mycket kommer du mest troligt vilja ha en lättare och smidigare ljuddämpare. Du måste också fundera över hur mycket ljudreducering du vill ha.
Utöver detta blir du också fundera över vilken typ av jakt du bedriver och vilken jakt dämparen ska passa till. Vad tycker du bäst om? Vill du hålla dig till en ljuddämpare eller vill du ha flera att variera mellan under olika jaktformer och förhållanden?

One of our most common questions is about choosing the right silencer. It’s a question with a complex answer, only because it’s extremely individual.
Before you buy yourself your first - or a new - silencer you should ask yourself a couple of questions. First of all, what is the purpose of the silencer? Is it for sound reduction- or to reduce barrel flips and recoil?
Next, you need to contemplate if size and weight matter. A silencer can (to a varying extent depending on the manufacturer) affect the whole equipment. If you walk with a dog or move a lot you will probably like a light and slim silencer. You also need to consider how much sound reduction you want.
Beyond this, you need to outweigh what type of hunting you are going to use your silencer for. What do you like the most?
And of course, you need to find a silencer that works with your weapon. What caliber and threads are required?
